"Olympics, Expansion, and Warnings"
Dear all,
Greetings from PACOM! The rains have passed in Korea, and now all that is left for us is to endure a scorching summer. According to what I have read, it only gets hotter moving forward each year--may whatever divine being you pray to help us all. All I will say is that I envy those of you who are in less humid climates than we are. As for those who have it even more humid than here, you have my deepest sympathies.
On more positive notes, the Olympics just wrapped up with us Koreans doing very well for ourselves in the use of ranged weaponry, as well as taking back the mantle of best in the world at Tae Kwan Do. Despite the hubbub regarding the logistics and whatnot of the Olympics, it provided a welcome source of diversion for many of us Koreans during this exceptionally hot summer period.
Onto more relevant news!
Expansion
We can now reveal that we are expanding the PACOM facility! Those of you who have visited us in the past know what our facility looks like, and now we've acquired one of the adjacent buildings and are in the process of renovating it to match PACOM's purposes. Construction has been ongoing for a while now, but a good majority of the work has been completed. Once we return from our summer break (more on that below), we will begin the process of migrating the employee offices into the building, as well as repositioning certain pieces of equipment to increase production efficiency and streamline manufacturing logistics.
No pictures yet, but we'll be glad to show you the new facility in the next update--and I promise, it will be worth the wait!
Summer Break
PACOM will be having its annual summer break starting today, August 16th until August 21st. As such, responses may be delayed in this time period; we appreciate your understanding!
Caution Regarding Phishing Attempts
Some of you may have received this notice via your project managers, but I think this issue is important enough that it bears repeating here.
Recently there was an attempt by malicious actors to steal payment details from one of our valued customers. The perpetrator impersonated a PACOM account address and attempted to convince the customer that PACOM had set up a new offshore bank account, and instructed the customer to send payments to said account.
Fortunately, the customer sensed something was awry and informed us, and we were able to alert the customer that this was a phishing attempt and to not follow up on the instructions sent.
PACOM would like to reassure you that we have no plans to switch bank accounts for the purposes of receiving payments on jobs performed--and if we ever actually decide to do so, it won't be in a simple conversational e-mail, anyway.
For your sake, please make sure to check the email address of the person sending the message, and to see if there is anything odd about either the message or the sender address. It never hurts to be careful!
Some impersonations have been as follows:
- ______@pacornprinting.com
- ______@paccomprinting.com
- ______@paccomprntng.com
- ______@paccmprintings.com
Please exercise caution and take a few seconds to double check before sending details. It's a brave new world out there.
Frankfurt
PACOM will have a booth at the Frankfurt Buchmesse in October, Halle 6.0, A14. Should you plan on being in attendance as well, please reach out to either me or your PMs and set up an appointment if you so wish--we would love to talk in person! Likewise, if your company plans on having a booth in Frankfurt, let us know and we'd be glad to drop by and talk!
That is all for this edition of PACOM Update. Until next time!
