"Autumn Has Arrived"
Dear all,
Greetings from PACOM! Happy September, and a belated happy Labor Day Weekend to our American friends. Regardless of Garfield's thoughts on the holiday, I always thought it was nice that it was set up perfectly to allow American workers to enjoy one of their favorite pastimes--drink copious amounts of beer and watch football. No judging, I enjoy doing that as much as any American, and I miss it somewhat.
Now that college football has kicked off (and my alma mater, located in Berkeley, is somehow joining the "Atlantic" Coast Conference; funny that) and the NFL season has as well, I think you will see the sports analogies of these updates grow more numerous. Anyway, onto the news!
Passing Muster
Those of you who have seen our website know that PACOM has passed several audits to stay abreast of global standards. This month, PACOM passed an audit required of any company that handles LEGOs at our facility, as well as an audit put forth by Costco for suppliers. While there were a few points raised in the report, on the whole, PACOM passed with room to spare, signifying our commitment to safe practices and standards.
We also recalibrated our offset press for G7 Master level, passing the standards with flying colors. You can see it in the G7 Directory here; search for PACOM and you will find it.
As mentioned previously, PACOM is ISO9001-, 14001- and 45001-certified, as well as FSC-certified. We are constantly working to maintain our standards!
K-Print
Two weeks ago, the annual gathering of print suppliers, machine manufacturers and other industry personnel took place in KINTEX at Ilsan. Looking around, we were struck by how much the technology has advanced in recent times, especially in the digital printing area. Furthermore, a lot of innovative, small-scale machines were on display, reflecting the growing trend of small-batch, customizable jobs which people require.
It was a great learning experience for myself and the PACOM employees who attended, and we'll be looking to beef up our digital printing capacity moving forward.
Visitors
PACOM will have many new faces visiting over the next few months, as both partners and clients from the U.S., Japan and Europe are all set to visit the facility. For some, it will be their first time seeing it! The COVID era, at least travel-wise, seems like a distant memory, doesn't it?
Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving)
Chuseok falls on September 29th this year. Thus, on the 28th and 29th of September, PACOM will be on holiday--keep that in mind for contact purposes!
That's all for this edition of PACOM Update. Until next time!
